We R Women's goal is to spread awareness about major women’s health issues and work to address them. We hope you will join us on our journey!
My name is Ashley, and I am a Form III student at the Hockaday School in Dallas, Texas. As the Executive Director of the We R Love Foundation, a nonprofit focused on health, homelessness, and education, I plan projects to strengthen our community. One of these projects worked to address period poverty by providing menstrual products to homeless women. This work made me realize the importance and lack of attention surrounding women's health. From this project came the idea of We R Women, which aims to spread knowledge about often-overlooked women's health issues, such as a lack of accessibility to feminine hygiene products worldwide, chronic illnesses affecting women, and more. These problems lack the attention they deserve because they affect "only" women, meaning there's less research, knowledge, and aid to help resolve these issues. By sharing information and gathering support for projects, we hope to address the disparity between attention toward female-specific versus general health issues and help women worldwide. Join and support We R Women on our journey to make the world a better place, one fact at a time!
